PH3 & TMA Exhaust Gas Treatment For Jingzhou Taihe Chemical Co., Ltd.Mar 19, 2026

PH3 & TMA Exhaust Gas TreatmentFor Jingzhou Taihe Chemical Co., Ltd.

Background:

The plant generates phosphine (PH3) and trimethylamine (TMA) from different processes.

PH3 is highly toxic and reactive, while TMA brings strong odor issues. At the same time, the system has to handle both high-concentration gas and large air volume, making stable treatment difficult.

Solution

Chaori designed a multi-stage wet scrubbing system, with different treatment paths for different gas sources.

Instead of using a standard spray tower, the system applies an enhanced internal structure to improve gas distribution and contact efficiency. At the same time, stage-wise chemical treatment is used to match the reaction characteristics of each gas.

What Makes It Different

1.Special inlet structure improves airflow uniformity before entering the tower

2.Optimized internal flow path increases gas residence time without increasing system size

3.Full-coverage contact design reduces untreated zones inside the scrubber

4.Stage-based chemical reaction control, not just single-step neutralization

5.Anti-blocking design to handle long-term operation with particulate and by-products

Results

1.Stable and safe handling of toxic phosphine

2.Effective control of trimethylamine odor

3.Reduced blockage and maintenance issues

4.Reliable compliance under continuous operation

Conclusion

The key to this project was not adding more equipment, but making each stage work more effectively.

Thats what keeps the system stable over time.
