The wet gas scrubber tower, also known as an exhaust gas purification tower, is a highly efficient device designed to remove pollutants from industrial waste gases through chemical or physical absorption. By promoting full contact between the exhaust gas and a specially selected scrubbing liquid, the system effectively neutralizes harmful substances before discharging clean air into the atmosphere.
At Chaori Purification, we manufacture a range of customizable wet scrubber systems tailored for industrial clients across various sectors. Below, we explain how this system works and why it’s such a reliable solution for air pollution control.
Structure of a Gas Scrubber Tower
A typical scrubber tower consists of the following components:
Holds the chemical or neutralizing liquid (commonly water, acidic or alkaline solutions).
Guides contaminated air into the tower via connected ductwork.
-
Scrubbing (Spray) Section
Pressurized circulating pumps deliver scrubbing liquid to nozzles that spray it downward across the tower.
-
Packing Layer (Filler Media)
Provides large surface area for gas–liquid contact, enhancing absorption and reaction efficiency.
-
Mist Eliminator (Demister)
Captures any entrained liquid droplets to prevent mist escape and reduce moisture carryover.
After treatment, the clean air is pulled through the fan system and discharged into the environment.
How the Scrubber Tower Works
The operational process includes the following steps:
1.Gas Entry
Waste gas enters the lower section of the tower through ducts.
2.Upward Gas Flow & Downward Liquid Spray
As the gas rises, it encounters descending spray jets of scrubbing liquid that absorb and neutralize the harmful components through chemical reaction (e.g., neutralizing acidic or basic compounds).
3.Contact in the Packing Layer
Inside the filler media layer, the gas and liquid interact intensely, ensuring high absorption efficiency.
4.Liquid Recirculation
The scrubbing liquid, after collecting pollutants, drains to the tank and is recycled through the pump system.
5.Clean Air Discharge
Finally, the demister removes moisture before the purified gas exits through the exhaust fan into the atmosphere.
Key Performance Features of Chaori's Scrubber Towers
-
Ideal for Continuous and Intermittent Gas Discharges
Whether your facility emits gas steadily or in batches, our system handles both effectively.
-
Simple Operation and Low Maintenance
Our systems are designed with easy access points, modular spray layers, and standardized fittings, making maintenance quick and non-disruptive.
-
Multi-Pollutant Capability
Effectively removes a wide range of pollutants, including acidic, alkaline, and organic vapors—even in complex gas mixtures.
-
Superior Demisting Performance
Our mist eliminator is built from Chaori-manufactured fine spherical rings, which offer high permeability, excellent water blocking, and low airflow resistance—effectively preventing liquid carryover.
Common Applications
Chaori wet scrubber towers are widely used in:
-
Chemical plants
-
Electronics manufacturing
-
Metallurgy
-
Machinery and metal processing
-
Laboratories and waste treatment centers
These systems are especially effective for treating acidic gases (e.g., HCl, SO?), alkaline emissions (e.g., NH?), and particulate-laden exhausts.
